Review: by Anthony

I went into this movie with a clean slate, no trailer seen, no plot summary known. I didn't even know the cast.  All I knew was that this psychological thriller would supposedly be Steven Soderbergh's last film as a Director.  As a fan of the Ocean's 11 series, I knew that for me this would be a must see.

What I Liked:

This movie was fantastic.  About halfway through the movie, I thought I had it all figured out.  I had already planned out the ending and was hoping the great Soderbergh wouldn’t be so predictable. I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Rooney Mara and Jude Law both do a great job in bringing their characters to life, drawing you in as the film takes its twists and turns.

I could go on, continuing to heap praise upon this movie, and speak on the framing of the scenes, the way in which the musical score sets just the right mood, or the wardrobe that kept Jude Law and Catherine Zeta-Jones looking stunning. Instead, I’ll just leave it at this: Go see this movie.

What I Didn’t Like:

This movie was only 106 mins instead of a full 120 mins.  This movie was so good that I just wanted more, and that’s about all I can say negatively.

Summary

Don’t let the billing of Channing Tatum scare you away from seeing Side Effects. This is yet another great Steven Soderbergh film.
