Buddy cop movies are usually either really good or really bad. We knew 2 Guns, as an action/comedy, would need two strong leads. Who could be stronger than Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington? They're both fantastic actors, and Mark Wahlberg's most recent comedic attempts have been hits. Despite its corny title, we were excited to see it.

What We Liked:

The movie was truly funny and kept us laughing throughout its entirety.

Mark Wahlberg really delivered on the comedy front. He was hilarious. The comedic chemistry between him and Denzel was incredible. Their banter was so natural that it seemed completely improvised and easily became our favorite part of the movie. What was great about it was that they kept it up throughout the entire movie.

When Wahlberg and Washington weren’t making us laugh, however, Bill Paxton was stealing the scene. His larger than life portrayal of the right hand of the US Government was beyond amusing.

Aside from the comedy, the movie was action-packed. There were plenty of car chases, shoot outs, and explosions to please even the most finicky action lover.

What We Didn’t Like:

Paula Patton was not on par with the other actors. Any other pretty face in Hollywood could have replaced her, and the movie would have been just as good, if not better. All she did was go topless for a few scenes.

Summary

2 Guns was really just a fantastic buddy cop action/comedy movie with Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg. It was hilarious and definitely worth seeing.
