Review: by Anthony and Lee
Delivery Man was the American remake of the French-Canadian indie movie Starbuck, starring Vince Vaughn and Chris Pratt. Based upon the trailer, we thought it could be either a really funny movie or another poor American remake that shouldn't have been.
What We Liked:
The acting was pretty decent. There was nothing noteworthy but also nothing terrible. The characters, however, were great. There were fantastic scenes of character development giving depth to David, showing that despite his mistakes he ultimately tried to do the right things for the right reasons.
The scenes where David interacted with his kids were really touching and amusing at the same time. Seeing him try to better their lives one child at a time was completely heartwarming.
Chris Pratt was hilarious as the semi-incompetent lawyer/best friend, and his interactions with his own children were a highlight of the movie.
What We Didn’t Like:
The beginning of the movie felt rushed. It seemed like there was a huge hurry to get into the main plot of David getting to secretly know and interact with his multiple children.
Summary Delivery Man was a heartwarming, feel-good comedy. It was thoroughly enjoyable, and it would be a struggle to not like David Wozniak.
