Review: by Lee
All you need to tell me is "it's a Disney movie," and I will go see it. So, knowing that Frozen was Disney's latest fairy tale musical was all that was necessary to get me into the theater.
What We Liked:
From the beginning, Frozen drew me into its world. I emotionally connected with the main character, Anna, immediately, relating to her desire to play with her older sister, and was thus crying just about ten minutes into the movie. Disney does not toy around with their emotional jabs. There were several other scenes that got me right in the heart as well, especially when true love saved the day.
The characters were captivating and funny, each of them in their own rights, and the relationship dynamics were fantastic. I loved the interactions between Kristoff and Sven and Olaf and pretty much anyone. Even the so-called villains were hilarious, made even more so by the Arrested Development references and jokes. I wondered at first whether they were intentional, but there were so many I decided they had to be. Anthony and I had a slight disagreement about how believable Elsa’s actions were, but I stand by my opinion that her actions were understandable given the circumstances.
As a big return to the true musical nature of Disney films, Frozen was an absolute hit. Kristen Bell was great, and Idina Menzel was simply divine (no surprise there). The songs were the type that told a story rather than accompanying one in true musical theater style, but were still catchy and interesting. I particularly loved “Let It Go” by Idina Menzel.
What We Didn’t Like:
As I mentioned, the only real problem either Anthony or I had in regard to the movie was whether or not Elsa’s actions were believable, but, since this is my review and not his, it is hardly worth mentioning.
Summary
Frozen was a spectacular return to Disney musicals, complete with hilarious characters and beautiful ballads. It was a great movie, appropriate for both children and adults.

Hmm I was unsure about this one but I do love me Disney movies! Guess I better start making a list of movies to see 🙂
Not the best animated flick Disney’s ever done, but still pleasant and fun-filled enough to cheer everybody up. Even the parents which, I think, matters most! Good review.
