Sony has announced that they not only have plans to release The Amazing Spider-man 3 on June 10, 2016 and The Amazing Spider-man 4 in 2018 but also that they have additional plans for spin off movies for Venom and The Sinister Six.

Following the now trendy model of keeping a close knit group of directors, producers, and writers together to build a cinematic universe set by Disney and Warner Bros, Sony has formed a “franchise brain trust” comprised of writers and producers to develop and expand the Spider-man cinematic universe and, most importantly, keep a continuous thread through the movies (I’m looking at you, FOX, and these X-Men movies).

From the first trailer of The Amazing Spider-man 2 we saw glimpses of The Vultures wings and Doctor Octopus’s mechanical arms.  With Sony dropping hints here and there for the observant it was clear they had big plans for this franchise and as a major Spider-man fan I’m very excited.
