[Book News] J.K. Rowling’s latest story on Pottermore Reunintes Harry Potter with Hogwarts Friends

J.K. Rowling's latest story written for her Pottermore website reunites Harry Potter with his Hogwarts friends at the 2014 Quidditch World Cup.

Rowling’s latest 1,500 word article, written in the voice of gossip correspondent Rita Skeeter, brings together a 34 year old Harry Potter and his sons with his closest friends and their children at the largest sporting event in the Wizarding world.

The majority of the information concerning the remaining members of Dumbledore’s Army was covered in the epilogue of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows or in subsequent interviews.  Rowling has stated that she had wanted to “catch up” with all of Harry Potters friends outside of the main trio in the epilogue but things were cut in editing.

The friends gather at the final of the Quidditch World Cup 2014 in the post, which is part of a series of match reports and articles about the imaginary wizarding sport’s big tournament, according to a brief summary released by Pottermore. The reunion is described in the article by Rita Skeeter, the gossip correspondent of wizarding world newspaper The Daily Prophet.

The article describes Potter, now turning 34, as having “threads of silver” in his black hair. He also sports a mysterious cut over his cheekbone, which Skeeter deduces has been inflicted on him as part of his career as an auror, or a wizard trained to apprehend dark wizards.

Weasley’s description mentions that his “famous ginger hair appears to be thinning slightly.”

All that being said, we’re happy this latest Pottermore piece is being received warmly and maybe, just maybe Rowling will pick up the quill to write more about the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
