[Movie News] Warner Bros. announces ‘Batman vs. Robin’ & ‘Justice League: Gods and Monsters’
At their San Diego Comic-Con panel Warner Bros. announced the latest additions to their DC animated universe 2015 movie line up with Batman vs. Robin and Justice League: Gods and Monsters.
This news has me very excited. The DC animated movies have been nothing but stellar for a while. The latest movie Son of Batman was fantastic and I’m looking Throne of Atlantis which is next in line.
“Batman Vs. Robin” appears to be loosely based on the well-received DC Comics’ storyline “Batman: The Court of the Owls,” by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. “Justice League: Gods and Monsters” features an original story by Bruce Timm, and isn’t related to the 2001 comic “JLA: Gods and Monsters” by Dan Jolley and Josh Krach.
The Court of Owls storyline was really really good. It told a deep and rich story digging into Gotham’s history and pushed Batman to his limits both physically and mentally.
Also an original story by the legendary Bruce Timm is a pretty big deal, hearing he had some secret untold story for the Justice League is huge. Timm co-created Batman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Superman: The Animated Series, and Justice League from 2001 to 2008. Basically Bruce Timm is everything when it comes to the DC animated universe.
No additional details are available at the moment for the two announced movies other than the release date of some time in 2015.
