[Movie News] Disney’s ‘The Jungle Book’ adds Bill Murray, Christopher Walken, and Giancarlo Esposito
Disney's The Jungle Book remake has just cast Bill Murray as Baloo the Bear.
Also recently cast are Christopher Walken as King Louie and Giancarlo Esposito as Akela.
“The Jungle Book” will combine live-action and animation with Jon Favreau directing from a script by Justin Marks. The film will be released in 3D and open on Oct. 9, 2015.
In Rudyard Kipling’s original book, Baloo and the panther Bagheera teach the law of the jungle to the boy Mowgli — and save him from Shere Khan the tiger.
Baloo’s character was popularized in Disney’s animated 1967 cartoon, thanks to the song “The Bare Necessities,” sung by Phil Harris.
They join an already impressive cast list of big named actors such as Ben Kinglsey, Lupita Nyong’o, Idris Elba, and Scarlett Johanasson.
With a cast list such as this and the original movie to work off of, I’m totally interested in seeing The Jungle Book when it hits theaters on October 9, 2015.
