[Movie News] Marvel Studio’s Kevin Feige States a ‘Black Panther’ and ‘Captain Marvel’ Movie are in Development

Kevin Feige has stated that he's aware of the online groundswell push for a movie for Captain Marvel and Black Panther and that they are working on something.

It worked! All the articles that were written, all the message board chatter, all the twitter conversations have reached the ears of Marvel Studio President Kevin Feige.

This news is exciting and it feels so good to have my fan geek out rants validated.  It only makes sense that all the conversations and speculation about which major characters Marvel will bring to the screen next has made its way to Marvel Studios.  As I’ve read on twitter from multiple places, if we’re talking about it what makes you think Marvel Studios isn’t talking about it in their conference meetings.

“They’re both characters that we like, that development work has been done on; it’s continuing to be done on them,” he said. “It’s a question I get asked more than anything else — more than Iron Man 4, more than Avengers 3. That’s sort of the first time that’s really happened to us. That makes a difference. That’s something we have to pay attention to.”

“I’ve always said we have our plan, and it’s served us very well,” he said. “There hasn’t been anything that has made us deviate or change from that based on opinions. Because opinions online change, and they alter, and are based on what limited information they have of behind the scenes.”

“In this particular case, I think it’s a groundswell,” he said, “and I think it means something substantial.”
