[TV Show News] NBC Gives Commitment to ‘Bewitched’ Sequel

NBC has given a huge commitment to a sequel to the 1964 series Bewitched.

I vaguely remember seeing random old episodes of Bewitched growing up, what I do remember is that those episodes were always funny.

This new Bewitched show looks like it could pick up the audience demographic that Sabrina the Teenage Witch once held.

NBC has given a pilot production commitment to the follow-up series, which revolves around the granddaughter of Darrin and Samantha Stephens, the couple at the center of the original series that aired on ABC from 1964-72.

The new-model “Bewitched” was penned by Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein. It’s also shepherded by Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher of Red Wagon Entertainment. Wick and Fisher produced the 2005 “Bewitched” feature, which flopped at the B.O.

I actively remember the 2005 Bewitched movie starring Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell and how hard the movie flopped.  Hopefully this new television series won’t be completely terrible.
